Matthew S. Moroney is an attorney at our law firm’s Madison Office. His practice is focused primarily on government relations and administrative law. He represents clients’ interests before state and federal administrative agencies, as well as before the Wisconsin Legislature. His practice brings him into a diverse set of issues from areas including agriculture, agri-business, insurance, environmental, real estate, tax and transportation.
Prior to joining DeWitt, Mr. Moroney was the Executive Director of the Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee for eight years. In this capacity, he oversaw all of the organization’s activities and was the primary spokesperson and advocate for the homebuilding industry in Southeastern Wisconsin. Under his leadership, the organization saw nearly a 40% increase in membership and ranked in the top fifteen in size for similar organizations in the United States.
Mr. Moroney currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Waukesha County Chamber of Commerce. He has served on numerous advisory committees for the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission. He also served on the Special Legislative Committee for the Great Lakes Water Resources Compact.
Mr. Moroney graduated with highest honors majoring in Economics and Political Science from Loras College and received his J.D. degree with high honors from the University of Iowa College of Law.
To relax, Mr. Moroney likes to go fishing, running, playing sudoku and spending time with his wife, daughter and friends.
