Paul A. Croake practices in the area of real estate mortgage financing, real estate development, banking, corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, insurance regulatory work, and taxation. He has represented commercial real estate lenders in a 20-state region, and has successfully defended tax controversies with the I.R.S. involving multimillion dollar asserted deficiencies. Mr. Croake handled the legal aspects of development, project management, and construction of the Kohl Center, the University of Wisconsin’s basketball and hockey arena. Paul has represented insurance companies, lenders, and other parties in the acquisition of Wisconsin insurance companies and related regulatory matters. He also advises a select group of high net worth individuals regarding their estate plans.
After thoroughly understanding his client’s needs and objectives, Mr. Croake brings a practical, common sense approach to the realization of those objectives through zealous negotiation, creativity and timely delivery of legal services.
In addition to membership in the American, Wisconsin, and Dane County Bar Associations, Mr. Croake is a listee in Who’s Who in American Law and Best Lawyer’s in America (Corporate Law). He received his J.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin (where he was an editor on the Wisconsin Law Review), and his B.A. degree from Lawrence University.
Mr. Croake was company commander of a combat engineering unit in the United States Army and has been a member of the Boards of the Easter Seal Society of Wisconsin, Inc. and the Madison Boy Choir. He currently coaches his son’s middle school tri-county basketball team.
