Stuart Herro focuses his law practice on business, real estate and land use, estate planning, and probate. He is particularly known for advising clients on the legal aspects of establishing and operating small businesses and family businesses, as well as the orderly transition of ownership and management to the next generation.
In the area of estate planning and probate, Mr. Herro assists clients in developing their estate plans through the use of wills, trusts, marital property agreements, and related documents. A licensed Wisconsin real estate broker, Mr. Herro has an "insider's knowledge" that he uses to the advantage of his real estate clients, whether buyers, sellers, lessors, lessees, or developers.
A growing niche in Mr. Herro's law practice focuses on the Hispanic business population in Madison. Mr. Herro speaks Spanish, having studied law and economics at the National University of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Active in several professional and civic organizations, Mr. Herro served as a director of the Family Business Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Business for several years, and works with the pro bono Business Assistance Program sponsored by the State Bar of Wisconsin. Mr. Herro was selected for inclusion in the 2006 edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Herro is a staunch supporter of the Rotary Orphan Train. In his spare time, he enjoys his family and traveling, as well as golf and gardening.

- Working with a landowner in putting together a development and annexation plan that would be attractive to the local government.
- Assisting numerous individuals in establishing simple and complex estate plans.
- Advising a publicly owned landfill on the development of appropriate marketing strategies and contracts.
