Described by one of her peers as “never being happier than when her nose is buried in corporate tax returns,” Anne is well respected for her understanding of business and tax matters. When faced with a divorce where there is ownership interest in closely-held businesses, traditional partnerships or limited partnerships, hundreds of clients have turned to Anne for her sound advice and experience. She is a senior member in the Firm’s Family Law group and is based in the Madison office.
Anne enjoys the challenges that business interests present in settling or litigating property division issues in divorce. But more than that, she enjoys getting to know her clients, understanding their needs and wishes, and helping them develop long-term financial goals. She often says that it is her job to look down the road on behalf of her client, to establish a financial base to meet the client’s long-term needs as well as his or her short-term wishes.
Her reputation in business aspects of family relationships also results in her preparation of marital property agreements, both in the form of pre-nuptial agreements and as part of estate planning for married couples. Anne has been called upon to litigate the validity of such agreements when they impact the parties’ divorce.
