Denis counsels lenders and borrowers, both business and individuals, in the area of bankruptcy. He is especially skilled in the area of financial workouts and reorganizations, both under and outside of the Bankruptcy Code. He has experience with business and individual liquidations under Chapter 7, as well as Receiverships under Chapter 128 of the Wisconsin Statutes, and with individual debt restructuring under Chapter 13. On the creditor side, he works with numerous area banks on foreclosures, replevins, and other collection activities.
In addition to his knowledge in the bankruptcy area, Denis also counsels clients with respect to commercial and business disputes which may lead to litigation.
His commitment to the law is matched by his commitment to the community. He was on the Board of the Madison Children’s Museum, the Board of Very Special Arts, and is one of the founding directors of the Gerald A. Bartell Community Theatre Foundation, Inc., which operates and provides professionally managed performance space for Madison area theater groups such as Strollers Theatre, Stage Q and Mercury Players.
