Lisa is a member of the Family Law practice group at DeWitt. She brings to every case decades of experience representing clients in family law proceedings, including but not limited to: divorce, establishment of parental rights, paternity, child custody, child support, grandparent visitation, 3rd party custody, step-parent adoptions, harassment, domestic abuse, modification of child support, division of property and complex financial assets, enforcement/contempt, modifications of custody, modifications of spousal and child support, postnuptial and antenuptial agreements and children in need of protective services, (CHIPS). Lisa’s practice in these various areas of family law has taken place across a wide span of forums from motion and evidentiary hearings, initial case management conferences, social early neutral evaluations (“SENE”), financial early neutral evaluations (“FENE”), expedited child support hearings, mediations, pre-trials and district court trials, to Court of Appeals appearances. Lisa has received training and certification as a Guardian ad Litem, is certified as a Social Neutral Evaluator and a Financial Neutral Evaluator and is on the Rule 114 Supreme Court Roster for Mediators.
Lisa’s extensive experience in representing family law clients in Minnesota provides her with important perspectives and advantages in representing clients who are faced with some of the most difficult and wrenching legal predicaments a person can face. She is known for her ability to assist clients in a professional and level-headed manner to accomplish effective results.
In addition to her legal practice, Lisa has been committed to serving the community with her skills, including serving as a volunteer Guardian ad Litem in Dakota County, advising clients at the Help Desk, representing pro bono clients for Dakota County Legal Assistance and Southern Minnesota Regional Services in Ramsey County. She also previously participated several years as a volunteer attorney at Law Day at the Malls.
