Peter’s practice encompasses more than 40 years of experience assisting clients in real estate, general business and estate planning matters. In particular, he has assisted countless clients with matters such as the creation of purchase agreements and also representation before local governments on a variety of issues ranging from tax incremental financing to land annexation.
In the beginning of his career Peter clerked for Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Nathan S. Heffernan. He is active in both professional and civic organizations and as a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin has served in a number of leadership roles including serving on the State Bar of Wisconsin Board of Governors, Chairman of the Board of Attorneys Professional Competence and also as Director of the State Bar’s Tax section.

Notable Representations
- Peter assisted a client with a client-purchased property which had to be annexed to the City of Madison. The annexation was completed over the objection of the adjacent town.
- Recently Peter assisted his estate planning clients with the formation of a marital property agreement and other notices which can be used by the husband and wife to shield assets from creditors and still obtain a step-up in basis upon the death of either spouse.
- Peter drew upon his municipal approval process experience to assist a developer in the construction of the University of Wisconsin basketball and hockey facility, now known as the Kohl Center.
